Selyvi

Who stands behind Selyvi.

Behind Selyvi is a team from product, engineering and classroom practice.

We want to take administrative work off teachers – not the responsibility.

Why Selyvi exists

This did not start with a business plan. It started at the kitchen table. In our team’s closest circle there is a trainee primary school teacher – and we watched from up close how many evenings go not into teaching but into documentation, report texts and parent post. So we started building her tools. Small ones first, then better ones. At some point it was clear: this is not one person’s problem – it is a whole profession’s problem.

Those evenings turned into a system. We developed it further together with teachers across Germany – from primary through to upper secondary – and learned more from that than any textbook offers: what really helps day to day is decided day to day. We built Selyvi for primary school first. The three of us – Christian, Tobi and Rafael – became a team with one simple test: would this really give an evening back to a teacher we know? If not, we do not build it.

And perhaps this as well: the three of us sat in those classrooms ourselves for long enough. We are building this for the teachers we had back then, too.

From the kitchen table to today

  1. The kitchen table

A trainee primary school teacher in our closest circle – and the evenings that did not go into teaching.

  2. The staffroom

The first responses from teachers who knew the same thing.

  3. Three founders

Those evenings turned into a system – and the three of us into a team with one simple test.

  4. Teachers across Germany

Developed further with teachers from primary through to upper secondary.

  5. Measuring impact instead of asserting it

A survey model from the start – so that it is not us who says whether it helps.

Why we build this

Teachers spend too much of their time on administration. We build the assistant that takes on the routine work. The teaching judgement stays with the person.

How we work

  • Developed with teachers

Built together with teachers across Germany.

  • Data protection by design

We process only what a function needs. Every teacher sees only their own data.

  • Honest about where we stand

What is open we mark, in plain sight, instead of glossing over it. On this page too.

Our promise

  • Selyvi suggests. You decide. Always.
  • We show usage as a distribution, never as a ranking. Nobody is put on the spot.
  • Open points get marked, not glossed over — on this website and in the product.
  • Sample data is called sample data here.
  • No child is put on display: not in the software, not in our marketing, not even an invented one.

These are not marketing lines. They are the rules this website was built by. Hold us to them.

We take the time for a conversation.
